• Password Security

You’ve probably heard that your password needs to have a capital letter, a symbol, be at least 8 characters long, contain a complex math equation, perhaps the DNA code of an alien species, and the first chorus of a rock song. Sometimes password requirements are a little ridiculous. However, if you use weak password, your private information is at risk of being compromised. One good thing to consider is password length is immensely more powerful than password complexity. If your password is 14 characters in length it may take a couple million years to crack it. Another good practice is to use different passwords for different sites. If a major web site has a security breach, your username and password may be exposed. If you use the same username and password on multiple sites a hacker could easily gain access to other information outside of the initial security breach.
